Work in progress.... Under construction
Henry Rutz (1869-1917)
Mary Elizabeth (Huwa) Rutz-Schott (1875-1955)
~ Immigrated from Russia in 1908 ~
They settled in the Windsor/Eaton Colorado Area.
Volga Germans came to the United States after The Great Western Sugar CO advertised jobs and a better way of life in the Midwest. They worked in the fields, the factories, and irrigation districts. GW helped them thrive with year around employment and even helped them build their homes. The Rutz family took the journey in search of a way to support their family by way of Germany, Canada and Colorado. They eventually settled in Western Nebraska and found their dream.
